Are there any height or weight restrictions for baby car seats?

Baby car seats do have height and weight restrictions. These restrictions are mainly aimed at ensuring the safety of children when traveling at different stages of their growth.
According to different age groups and developmental conditions, the usage regulations for baby car seats are usually divided into several stages. For newborns to lighter weight infants (generally weighing 0 to 13 kilograms or under 1 year old), reverse mounted child car seats should be used, which can better protect the baby's head and neck. As the baby grows, when their weight exceeds 13 kilograms and their height reaches a certain standard (usually about 76 centimeters), they can be replaced with a forward mounted child seat. At this stage, the restraint straps in child seats need to be worn correctly to ensure the safety of children while driving.
When children weigh between 15 and 36 kilograms and are less than 145 centimeters tall (approximately 4 to 12 years old), it is usually necessary to use seats equipped with height increasing pads. This type of seat ensures that the shoulder strap of the seat belt is located on the child's shoulder and the cross strap is located on the child's crotch, providing appropriate protection.
For children weighing over 36 kilograms and standing over 145 centimeters tall (usually 12 years old and above), adult seat belts can be used. But when using, it is still necessary to ensure that the restraint position of the seat belt is correct, the child should lean back on the seat, and both feet should be able to land steadily.
